The Mechanical Engineering Department of Roorkee College of Engineering, Roorkee is fully equipped to meet the requirements of B.Tech Mechanical Engineering course. It has highly qualified and experienced faculty, most of those are product of engineering colleges of very high repute such as IIT, NIT and other engineering institutes of national and international fame. The Department of Mechanical Engineering has an intake of 60 in the B. Tech program with highly qualified faculty from all the domains of Mechanical, Production and Industrial Engineering.

Mechanical Engineering Department fulfills the industrial need and offers excellent offers for students as within the range of 25 kms a vast zone of industrial area is located which provides a golden opportunity for students for industrial visits along with placement opportunities. Some of the major industries are Exide, Everyday, Rockman, RIICO Auto Industries, Lumex, Munjal Auto, Amco. Mechanical Engineering Program revolves around concepts such as designing, manufacturing and working of machines and tools, parts of machines and their design etc. As a result, students will come across subjects focusing of machines, such as- Theory of Machines, Dynamics of Machines, etc.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering is one of the major department which involve activities in the Mechanical Engineering profession and its principles in design, study, development and construction of nearly all of the physical devices and systems.
