Wi-Fi Campus
Understanding the need and importance of Internet in the field of education, Roorkee College of Engineering, Roorkee campus is well equipped with High Speed Internet Connectivity through Internet Leased Line Circuit of BSNL and has strong backbone of dedicated Optical fibre cable (OFC) link throughout the campus including the hostels, so that the students can surf the Web, enhance their knowledge and use the e-information. The whole campus is well connected through wired as well as wireless networks.
Students can access internet with 100 MBPS connectivity with secure transmission of their data/information over cyber space. To provide security over cyber space and better management of Internet services for our students we introduced the services of “SMARTGUARD” a bandwidth manager and firewall system with UTM appliances. The coverage of Wi-Fi is not only restricted to class rooms but also extends to all the areas including library, cafeteria, and hostels. Eventually, it enables RCE to switch over to innovative and recent teaching and learning methodologies.
