National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a Government of India initiative, to reach out to students and faculty by providing them access to standard technical contents and Online Certifications Courses. RCE has established Local Chapter in order to supplement their courses in various disciplines of Engineering & Science, Management and Humanities. A large number of students through NPTEL will have access to quality content from them. All those who are gainfully employed in industries and all other walks of life and who require continuous training and updating their knowledge can benefit from well-developed and peer-reviewed course contents by the IITs and IISc.

The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) was formed in the year 2001. The vision of the council is “To enable a sustainable built environment for all and facilitate India to be one of the global leaders by 2025”.

The council offers a wide array of services which include developing new green building rating programs, certification services and green building training programs. The council also organizes Green Building Congress, its annual flagship event on green buildings. RCE took up an honorary membership of Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), a CII initiative that aims to build an ecological India to promote the sustainable development in the built environment sector in November 2014. As part of this partnership, an “IGBC Student Chapter” had been established to spread awareness on Green Buildings amongst the student community and to ignite the idea of green in young minds.

The ASME student Chapter at Department of Mechanical Engineering, RCE Roorkee is established in the session 2020-2021. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an American professional association that, in its own words, “promotes the art, science, and practice of multidisciplinary engineering and allied sciences around the globe” via “continuing education, training and professional development, codes and standards, research, conferences and publications, government relations, and other forms of outreach.” ASME is an engineering society, a standards organization, a research and development organization, an advocacy organization, a provider of training and education, and a nonprofit organization. Founded as an engineering society focused on mechanical engineering in North America, ASME is today multidisciplinary and global.ASME has over 110,000 members in more than 150 countries worldwide.

ASME
Objectives

The Society receives members from various colleges and universities, and acts as a platform where students and professionals can congregate and endeavour towards a common goal of creating the importance of engineers in the society. They also receive a great opportunity to interact—at local as well as international level—with people in same profession and of like-minded interests. At ASME, the community of engineers worldwide finds support to tackle, and design solutions to, real-world challenges. The ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education and professional development programs provide a foundation for advancing technical knowledge and a safer world.
